Chinese Article 4
(November 26, 2005)

Yesterday, (11/24), Cho Chang; Katie Leung meets fans in Beijing. She says that the kiss will be in the next film and she hopes next time, she'll go with "Harry" to Beijing.

When the person was chosen for Cho Chang, Katie had some people supporting her but there was more bashing towards her. Katie says:"Every reader has their own image of Cho. No one can please everyone. So I was already prepared for this [hating]. And I think it's normal for this to happen."

After filming GOF, 18 year old Katie faces choices. "I won't give up on acting as Cho. Being an actor is an amazing feeling but I also really want to go to a university, I don't want acting get in the way of studies."

Yesterday afternoon, Katie went to two different theatres to meet with fans. The first meeting was held at HuaXing theatre at 4. Katie attracted a lot of fans to come. Even though it's not the first day of watching the film but the seats were all filled. At the same time, Harry Potter souvenirs were all sold in the theatre's lobby; buing wizard hats and scarves.

When meeting with the audience, Katie welcomed everyone by saying some simple Chinese and the audience applaud. To make it more fun, some HP fans were asked to come up to stage and dance with Katie. "Actually being a dance teacher might be ok for me." Katie laughed.

At night, the second meeting was held in New Century Theatre. The people who went were a bit less than the meeting in the morning but were also very warm welcoming. They gave Katie three presents. One was a stamp that had the name "Liang Kai Di" (her Chinese name) on it, another one was a drawing portrait of herself and Beijing Olympic mascot stamps. "When it's 2008, I'll definetely come to Beijing to watch the Olympics. This time was a bit short. Next time, I hope to go all around Beijing and maybe it'll be even more fun to bring "Harry" along."
